Rubondo Island Camp, overlooking Lake Victoria, is the only lodge in the remote Rubondo Island National Park. A stay at Rubondo is the experience of a lifetime. Apart from a handful of park rangers, researchers and camp staff, the island is uninhabited by humans and has been made available as a refuge for chimpanzees and other endangered animals. The camp has eight beach cottages built by hand using traditional methods and local materials. Each cottage has a private terrace and en-suite bathroom with running hot water and flushing toilet. The facility also offers access to a wide range of activities, including chimpanzee monitoring.
